A Physiotherapist in the East

I went to visit a Physiotherapist in the East today. He's the husband of one of my closest friends. In fact his wife feels almost like a sister, if anything our Mandarin names are similar to the point of spookiness. It's almost like we share a generation name. Like SuLing and SuChern, except that's not our names.

If you knew me before 1994, you'll know that the Cjinh in Cjinh Ping is the character 錦. This 錦 character is fairly androgynous. Thankfully for Mrs Physiotherapist, her name is 錦X and X is a fairly feminine character. Isabel on the other hand, has a male, if not androgynous name, it's 錦彬.

Those of you that know Mandarin well, tell me isn't that at worst a man's name, and at best an androgynous name for Isabel? I daresay 錦彬 is 60 to 70% male. I wonder if that's why I'm undoubtedly a tomboy!!! According to my father, he didn't pick this name. Some sage who looked at my year, month, day and time of birth picked it. If anyone's interested to understand why this sage named me that way, here's my birth details: 12 noon, 6 April 1976. According to the Lunar Calendar its the year of the Dragon, 3rd month 7 day, in the hour of the horse.
My understanding of it is I'm a fiery person who gets distracted and slacks off at times. Hence, the name balances me with wood to give me fuel. The gold part of my name reminds me that it is worthy to be diligent. Any opinions? I am fiery and unambitious right?
Well, it could have been worse, I could have been named, 錦斌!!! (also pronounced as Cjinh Ping, for all of you that can't read Mandarin!) 斌 is the character for an individual who's both a warrior and a poet! How man is that?
