Adultery

The punishment for adultery in the olden days was death. Hands up for anyone who didn't know this? Really, I kid you not. Go look it up. In the Chinese culture, if a woman betrayed her husband, that was it, she was headed for a meeting with the God of Hell. However, if a man wanted to take another wife, he just needed his "first"/preceeding wife/wives consent. So.. Hm... man it sucks to be a Chinese woman. But let's not go there for today ya?

In Jewish culture in the Bible, the same thing. Except if I'm not wrong, there was no "difference" between the gender of the man and woman. So if my interpretation of the law is correct, that means if you commit adultery, you die. Whether you're a woman or a man, if you're caught committing adultery, you're so screwed. The punishment was STONING. For the uninitiated, this means SURE DEATH. They essentially threw you off a cliff!

So unless you're Bruce Lee and you have supernatural kungfu, you'd die!

Hmmmm, food for thought isn't it?

What does this mean to us today?

To me, this means that if my husband/boyfriend EVER intentionally cheats on me physically, emotionally, financially or intellectually, I have every right to

1) call off the relationship
2) kill him

Not necessarily in that order! :-)

Gentlemen of the world, you have been forewarned!!

SO FIERCE!

i say, pre-emption (is there such a word?) is better than murder. so have a good triaging system to sieve out the inappropriate referrals.

hmm, sounds like work (pun fully intended).

I guess the most pre-emptive action would be to forewarn all potential suitors that Isabel is capable of murder!

I agree with the whole triaging system. Really. Prevents a lot of headaches down the road.

You can murder them, but the damage is already done ;/

Dear Monkey and Tiger, by triaging you mean DATING right?
