Emotional baggage. Possibly one of the most powerful and insidious weapons that Asian parents use. They often pair it with blackmail.

It never fails to STUN me. Why Asian parents do that.

A friend once told me tearfully. That her mum constantly tells her she's the "surprise" package. That the family was not prepared for her arrival. That she was the "unexpected", unplanned third child.
Why would you do that to your own child?

Why?
