Was supposed to meet Stacey, one of my bestest friends from school, but she couldn't make it.
So I spent the time digging up an old movie. Come to think of it, I think Stace liked this movie too!
It's one of my favourites. I think it's close to 50 years old -- maybe older. Yeah, I looked it up on Wikipedia ---- Singin in the Rain was made in '52. That makes it 55 years old. It was really well made and watching Gene Kelly dance is fantastic.
I really like old movies, was watching an Audrey Hepburn film the other day and my brother asked, who's that? When I told him, Audrey Hepburn, he looked at me and said, "Hasn't she passed away?" To which I replied. "Yeah, most of the actors in this film (Charade) have passed away."
Wonder if that says something about me?
Hm... next mission, to find a DVD of "An American in Paris". This musical has Gershwin's music and Gene Kelly dancing to it. Heavenly combination!
An American in Paris is another musical, it was made before Singin in the Rain, in 1951. I remember watching it while I was in Brisbane about 10 years ago. It was great. Hmmmm, wonder if I can find it on Amazon at a non-cut-throat price.
